Holiday Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 -8 slices bread (white or wheat), crusts removed
  • 1 medium apple peeled and diced
  • 1 lb. bulk sausage cooked (or crumbled links)
  • 2 cups mile (or half-and-half)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 5 Eggs
  • 6 ounces cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. 1.Lay bread in bottom of oblong 9x13? glass baking dish.
  2. 2.Sprinkle cooked sausage and apple over bread.
  3. 3.Sprinkle on cheese.
  4. 4.In a bowl, whip together eggs, milk, salt and dry mustard.
  5. 5.Pour egg mixture over all and refrigerate overnight (for breakfast) or all day (for dinner).
  6. 6.If freezing, skip the refrigeration instructions; wrap pan well; label and freeze.
  7. To serve:
  8. 1. Thaw completely.
  9. 2. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.
  10. 3. Let set 10 minutes before serving.
