Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 slices white bread cut off crust
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage cook well done
  • 2 1/2 cups sharp or med cheddar cheese grated
  • 2 cups milk or cream
  • 8 eggs beaten
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon mustard optional

Instructions

  1. Grease 9/13 baking dish
  2. Bread goes in first, then meat (sausage should be crumbled)
  3. Beat eggs and stir in all remaining ingredients
  4. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Best ot let stand until firm (5-10 minutes)
  5. I prefer to set casserole out of fridge and bring to room temp before baking.
